DolWin3 project refers to a 900MW DC grid connection system in the German North Sea developed by TenneT Offshore GmbH. DolWin3 is the third grid connection project in the DolWin cluster. The system’s direct current is transmitted from DolWin Gamma offshore converter platform to an onshore converter station located in Dörpen/West, through a 160km connection. The aforementioned length corresponds to both the onshore (80km) and the offshore (80km) cables.
The cables system that was installed is composed by:
- 2 submarine High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC)
- 1 Fiber Optic (FO) cable
Prysmian Group has awarded Assodivers Group the final pull-in operations on DolWin Gamma offshore platform of each cable separately, i.e. two (2) pull-in operations for the HVDC cables and one (1) pull-in operation for the FOC.
