The “Albatros” project concerns the HVAC grid connection to the offshore wind farm Albatros. The connection uses the existing “north” Global Tech 1 cable route (Borwin beta - GlobalTech 1) already installed. After the initial pull-in at Albatros OWF platform, the new HVAC cable will be laid towards the BorWin beta - Global Tech 1 HVAC North cable, which will then be cut on seabed and connected to Albatros HV cable at the jointing area. Finally, the final joint will be deployed on the seabed.

Prysmian has awarded ASSO a contract for the execution of the submarine cables installation, included trans pooling of cable, PLGR along the Albatros route corridor and cable lay from the platform to the jointing location.

ASSO’s scope of work included:

  • Preparation activities // Mobilization activities
  • PLGR
  • Platform pull-in
  • Jointing operations (vessel serves as working platform)

Vessel/Equipment used:

  • Atalanti
  • Artemis
  • Atom ROV
