This Evia-Andros-Tinos project concerns the islands of Evia, Andros and Tinos are linked together by four outdated single-core oil-filled AC Submarine Power Cables. It has been planned by IPTO the replacement of the existing power transfer system between the aforementioned islands. The Evia-Andros-Tinos Project consists in the supply and installation of a Power and Optical Cable System for the two Crossings.
The submarine cable is a tripolar armoured cable which includes an interstitial fibre optic unit. The land cables system is typified by three (3) single core power cables and a separate fibre optic cable. Submarine and land cables are connected by sea/land joints that are installed at beach landings.
At Evia and Tinos landings, two sea-land joints bay are constructed in order to install joints to connect the submarine cable with the land cables. At these landings, land cables are installed from sea/land joint position to cable terminations inside the electrical stations.
