The Global Tech 1 (GT-1) project concerns the realization of a new HVAC grid connection between the offshore substation BorWin Gamma and the grid connection point (OSS) on the OWF Global Tech 1 by jointing the existing cables and new cables.
The system is composed by two power cables with an interstitial optical unit that will be simultaneously laid and buried independently from each other on two parallel routes of approx. 14.5km length each.
Prysmian has awarded ASSO a contract for the execution of work includes 29km (2 cables, 14.5km each) submarine cable installation and protection including the initial pull-ins on platform and joining of the new cables with the existing ones.
ASSO’s scope of work included:
- Preparation activities // Mobilization activities
- Platform pull-in
- Jointing operations (vessel serves as working platform)
- Simultaneous lay & Burial
