Asso.subsea Limited, a specialized global contractor in the submarine cable industry, in consortium with Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been selected by RTE, Réseau de Transport d’Électricité, for the development of the submarine export cable system for the Gruissan floating offshore wind farm, located in Southern France.
The submarine cable system shall consist of one 66 kV three-core export cable with EPR insulation for a total of 25 km and attached another 66kV submarine dynamic cables with EPR insulation for about 1 km connecting the shore to a floating sub-station.
Asso.subsea will perform all marine works required for the project, such as cable loading, route preparation, cable installation and protection, in addition to the HDD works at landfall. The project completion is scheduled by Q3 2023.
