Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi Energia S.p.A. was awarded a Contract by Basslink PTY Ltd. for the supply installation and protection of a 400KV DC submarine cable system between Victoria and Tasmania.

Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi Energia S.p.A. as a main contractor for the above project apppointed Assodivers for the execution of the protection of the  underwater cable bundle for a total length of 39.5 Km. 

Assodivers used the Assotrencher IV trenching vehicle equipped with a mechanical cutter in the shape of a wheel, to create a trench of suitable dimensions for the protection of the cables in hard seabed soil structure with a depth of i approx. 0.5m. And a trench width shall be approx. 0.3 m.

Cable burial through the hard seabed sections  provided cable protection with minimum disturbance to seabed soil.
