Energinet SOV and 50Hertz Transmission GmbH have built a cable connection, consisting of two HVAC cables, between Krieger’s Flak offshore substation KFB (Denmark) and EnBW Baltic 2 offshore substation (Germany). This project is part of the Krieger’s Flak (KF) Combined Grid Solution (CGS).
The length of the cable route corridor is approximately 25km long, with approximately 17km in Danish EEZ and approximately 8km in German EEZ. The water depth along the planned cable route corridor varies from 15 to 45 m below Mean Sea Level (MSL).
50Hertz and Energinet SOV have awarded Assodivers the protection of the above mentioned interconnecting submarine cables between the two platforms.
ASSO performed a pre-lay jetting run to identify the routes’ hard soil section requiring pre-trenching.
Following successful pre-lay jetting run showing AssoJet III capability to bury the cables, and upon cable laying by 3rd party, ASSO performed post-lay jetting operations for the whole cable routes protection.
